19th Century Four Gallon Copper Haystack Jug - Large, Impressive, Superb!
A delightfully shaped and impressively large 19th C. English four gallon copper haystack jug with nicely shaped "serpentine" handle. It is the classically shaped "haystack" form - i.e. wide base and very angled sides - others including later ones are more cylindrical in shape.
Dating from the early to mid 19th century, its condition is remarkably good with relatively smooth surface throughout; very few dents, scratches or other marks (please see photos). The base is structurally very sound, as is its bottom rim. There are no noticeable repairs or reworking.
To be frank, this is one of the best Haystack Jugs i've come across, both in shape and condition.
