Large Vintage Taxidermy Mute Swan on a Wooden Base. Pre 1947
An impressively large taxidermy Mute Swan. It once graced a small museum in North Norfolk. Pre 1947, It is believed to date from the 1930s or earlier.
Its condition can be described as "very good" - its feathers are all still intact (no insect/animal damage) and are all still "white" in colouration. All other features including neck, head, beak, webbed feet etc. are all intact and in good order. The bird is stable on a "naturalistic" wooden base and is quite strong and stable. It has some noticeable leg (skin/scale) damage to one leg (likely fox attack) which probably led to its fate - this has been left “as is” by the taxidermist.
Dimensions: It makes for an impressive display - about 45 inches (1.15m) in length and 24 inches (64cm) high. and base 14 inches (36cm wide)
