19th C. English Gentleman's Black Leather Riding Boots with Original Wooden Maple Trees/Stocks

A smart & incredibly stylish pair of antique nineteenth century gentleman's long riding boots in polished black leather, complete with an outstanding pair of wooden solid maple trees/stocks, with an incredible patina & feel. The trees are made of 3 pieces that fit together & slide into the boot with the middle piece inserted last. Evocative of many long hunts in the field gone before. Boots approximate size: 9 (UK)

Condition: Boots well worn and well used (yet still polish beautifully well), but fully intact, with a pair of small tears in one of the boots, from a vigorous ride no doubt. On one boot there is some superbly executed repair work - from a time when the cobbler was well practiced in such work. (please see photos)

The stocks are in superb condition, with a light air patination on the tops. Beautifully smooth to the touch.

Dimensions: Standing 26 inches tall, they're wonderful sculptural and statement items.
