North Norfolk Antiques Trail

North Norfolk Antiques Trail

Planning a visit to the attractive North Norfolk Coast with its charming flint-walled and pan-tiled roofed cottages, its salt marsh coastline and delightful old fishing harbours and ports? - then you may be interested to know that there are plenty of opportunities to hunt for a wide range of antiques and vintage collectables whilst you’re there.

The North Norfolk Antiques Trail revolves around the historic Georgian town of Holt, which over the years has established itself as a major antiques centre. In the town itself there are no fewer than five antiques shops and emporiums. These include: The Holt Antiques & Interiors centre just to the south west of the town with easy parking, and which always offers an attractive range decorative antiques. Right in the centre of Holt is Shirehall Plain Antiques Centre, whose dealers present a good selection of traditional antiques. Along the High Street is Richard Scott Antiques with a wonderful range of ceramics. Just to the east of the town is Wheatleys with their eclectic range of smaller items. Right in the centre again is Scout Decorative which has gained an enviable reputation for their stylish “one off” finds - open on Saturdays.

Just outside Holt a mile or two to the west is Glandford where you'll find Bayfield Hall Antiques and Interiors, located in the former stables of a fine country house - Bayfield Hall. This is well worth a visit. In the village itself you can get a light bite and/or a decent coffee.

A few miles south is the stunning, picture perfect, village of Heydon - really, not to be missed. Here you will find Avocet Antiques that always offers a fine range of “country house” antiques. For something more unusual, but also in the village is Fergus & Gibbs that specialises in old motoring and aviation memorabilia.

A few miles along the A148 toward Fakenham and to the right to the village of Hindringham is Chris Kirby Antiques with its range of old country furniture, naive and folk art paintings.  Left, off the A148 in the village of Melton Constable is Paffron & Scott that always has a really eclectic range of antique items. (open on Saturdays).
