Vintage African Addex (White Antelope) Horns mounted on Arrow Head Shaped Shield, Taxidermy Circa 1930/40s
For sale here is a rare set of Addex horns strongly and well mounted on a period arrowhead shaped wooden shield which has two sturdy mounting hooks affixed to the top of the shield. The horns are 76cm long.
Addex mounted horns are amongst the most attractive and rare of the African antelope. The Addex is now listed as an endangered species and less than 500 of them can be found in the Sahara Desert. An appropriate Government release document will be provided with the horns.
They have a great shape, nicely symmetrical and balanced, with no damage including the tips. They are from the 1930s/1940s and were once part of a large country house collection. CITES A10 held.
