Three artists who have influenced me are Paul Cézanne, George Braque & Christopher Wood. These artists emerged from the legacy of post-impressionism & were all involved in different ways with moving toward the radical dismantling of structural form - such as when painting houses or boats. This small collection of work features imagined post-war beach scenes of working boats & fishermen along the East Anglian coastline. My attempt is to create the impression of this activity, at a time when working boats were far more plentiful around our coastline. Form has been dismantled in favour of impression.
