I see old wooden working boats, that once plied their trade around the shores of Britain as art & sculptural forms in their own right - and I paint them as such. In this series I often envisage them as a gallery exhibit where they can be viewed and appreciated for their craftsmanship, patina, shapes, curves & lines - giving a sense of nostalgia for days & times past.
